Take a guess at when you think this session was. I'll give you a hint... It was one of my last sessions of the year.

I shot this session two weeks into November. OMG those colors!! Maddie is the sweetest girl and boy does she have style! When she walked in with this gorgeous little black dress I knew immediately we had to do some edgy shots in the studio. We shot so many killer shots in here and used a bunch of them to make an amazing album spread.

We put on her beautiful red sweater hopped outside and got some amazing shots with the leaves in front of a red fence. Now, I know when we were shooting this she and her mom thought "what the heck is this lady up to?" Ha ha! Because we had basically twigs there. There were a few leaves hanging on for dear life. It was bitter cold outside, and we really didn't have lush leaves where I could get a lot of red. This fence provided that perfect backdrop and then the little clingers of leaves. I was able to pop that in and really round out that fall color. I love the bokeh in that image and it really makes a beautiful fall portrait when we didn't actually have a fall day for a shoot. That's one of my favorite things about a late fall session is that you can still get that fall vibe but you can also get these really soft neutral tones with browns and creams and greys. If that is your aesthetic or something that you like in your home decor and you want that to match your walls, then this is the kind of timing that you want to have for your session.

We also were able to get her sweet sweet puppy in for the shoot. Her dad met us at our last location and look at how cute they are together. I always love when a senior brings their pet to the shoot. I know now that she's off at college, she loves having these photos with him.

If you have not booked your senior session yet get in touch as soon as possible. I am, believe it or not, booking all the way through November right now. Click the button below to get started!
