You probably already know that people buy people, they don't buy things. As service providers and primarily "one-man-shows," photographers are in a position that they need to sell themselves as well as their service. Pretty pictures aren't all it takes anymore. How can you humanize your brand to connect with your perfect client and show them who you are?
Currently, Reels and TikTok are the easiest, cheapest way to do this. Both platforms encourage users to create shortform videos that are casual and easily consumed. If you shoot seniors, this is where you want to be.
But... How?
How do you find the best sounds? How do you find themes for photographers?
Start by consuming the content. As you are watching Reels/TikToks, which sounds are you seeing over and over? Ask yourself if you can take that sound and pair it with something that will help your client. Show your face and personality and you'll be amazed how fast your "tribe" will find you.
*Remember, the best marketing SERVES your client.*
Don't focus on what serves you and your motives. Make content that gives your client the information they need, and the right clients will find you. Increase the connection to your brand by showing your face and letting them get to know you.
As Bridget Brennan said:
"Humanize your company by minimizing status differences and leveraging a sense of humor."
