Oh Taylen! This guy is the sweetest but just like every other senior guy (or almost every other senior guy I should say), he was not super excited about having his senior portraits done. They just seem to think it's going to be so miserable. Then they show up and it's amazing and they actually have a good time. GASP! It cracks me up when they have to finally admit that yes, that wasn't so bad. Moms and I always share a laugh about this after the session, because then when they come in and see their images, the first thing they say is "Oh, I look so good and that we have to keep that one!" or "Oh, I love that shot where I'm doing this or that. We have to keep it too, mom."

Its always so funny to watch how they make that flip from not wanting to do their senior photos too, so pumped that they had them done and they want them all!

So for Taylen's shoot, we started by going to a few locations in downtown Columbia. We kept it pretty short and sweet but made sure to get everything that he needed. After that we went to a park here in town we started there and did some stuff with plaid shirt. I always tell guys you know wear what you're comfortable in. You don't have to dress up in a suit and tie if that's not your thing. If you like a more relaxed look, that's totally fine. Just keep it really simple. A plain t-shirt with no text is amazing and it looks perfect in photos. You don't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe for your senior portraits. These should look like things that you would wear on a daily basis because otherwise they're not going to look like you, and you're not going to feel comfortable. The primary focus should be feeling like YOU.

The last thing we did for Taylen's and shoot was head out to the range and get some photos with his shotgun because he is a trap shooter. The sun was starting to set, there was this gorgeous golden light in the autumn trees, gah! It was beautiful. We were able to get a number of different shots of him with his shotgun doing some shooting which was so cool and unique to him!
